About the Game

Microsoft FreeCell is a classic solitaire card game from the Microsoft Games series, originally included with Windows operating systems. It uses a standard 52-card deck, all dealt face-up. Players use four free cells as temporary holding areas to move cards to four foundation piles, sorted by suit in ascending order. Unlike most solitaire games, nearly all FreeCell deals are solvable, making it a favorite among strategy enthusiasts. The game features a clean interface and intuitive controls, suitable for all ages. Since its release with Windows 95 in 1995, FreeCell has become one of the most popular card games worldwide. This version is provided by Y8 and can be played directly in the browser on desktop and mobile devices without any downloads.

How to Play

At the start, 52 cards are dealt into eight columns: four columns with seven cards and four with six cards. All cards are face-up. The goal is to move all cards to the four foundation piles (top right) in ascending order (A to K) by suit. The four free cells (top left) can each hold one card temporarily. Cards can be moved between columns in descending order (K to A) with alternating colors (red/black). A sequence of cards in order can be moved together if the target column has enough space. The game is won when all cards are in the foundation piles.
